Consider this, Joe "Happy Hunter"
sees your tower lights and decides to pick one off. He never hits a light, but one shot
does pierce the outer conductor of your transmission line. Luckily the line doesn't burn,
but the gas runs out, just before the driving rain starts. Now what? The only way you are going to get this system back on line is to disassemble each piece of transmission line and dry it out, after the rain stops. Don't think you can purge the line and dry it, it won't work. So, even without an actual burnout, you are faced with days of Off-Air losses. This potential exists every day at your station. If the transmitter did not shut off in time, which is the more likely scenario, you could easily have hundreds of feet of burn-damaged or "sooted up" line and be faced with up to a week or more of Off-Air time. Dead Air is no fun! We can help you minimize it with a RAM antenna system. |
Call us
anytime day or night at (512) 266-6200 for Emergency Service. Our antennas are crated for air transport. Each antenna is shipped with a universal mounting bracket and adapters as needed to connect to your system. Each kit has easy assembly instructions. Our flex transmission lines are reeled with a hoisting cable attached. This speeds the process. We also stock broadband transformers to allow use of our 50 ohm antenna with 75 ohm transmission line. Without this special piece of equipment, an emergency antenna might not be usable. Through Tower Network Service, we have emergency installation crews at your service. |
