As more stations begin to seriously consider the reality of DTV, many of our customers asked the question "Where are we going to put the DTV antenna?", and "Are we going to have to buy a new tower?" In response, we developed our Preliminary Report Feasibility Study to explore the option of placing the DTV antenna on the existing NTSC tower. Our study evaluates the viability of using the existing tower, using creative redesign with a preference for antenna top mounting. Top mounting is crucial to obtaining the best circularity and avoiding the multipath interference side mounting can introduce. In each case we have studied, we have been successful in achieving this goal at a reasonable cost, with excellent RF performance. Click below to see a sample of actual studies we have done for two scenario. One for UHF-NTSC with UHF-DTV and the second a VHF-NTSC station with UHF-DTV. The fee for these studies is only $3,500. Extremely reasonable considering the wealth of information provided. |
). Is it feasible and practical to use the existing NTSC tower for inclusion of the DTV system?
). Will my site do the coverage job, for NTSC and DTV?
). What antenna equipment is available and what will work best for me?
). What will it all cost?
